Air conditioner sanitizing for gyms
In a gym the humidity is permanently high and the air is full of textile lint. The combination loads the evaporator faster than in any other commercial space apart from kitchens.

Why units load up here
Perspiration raises the humidity, and the unit produces far more condensate than in an office of the same size. The evaporator is wet almost all the time, and textile lint sticks to it immediately. Add the long hours: many gyms run from six in the morning to eleven at night.
The recommended schedule
Three interventions a year, with filters washed monthly. In halls over 300 square metres we also check whether the units can handle the load: many were specified for far fewer people than they now hold.
The specific risk
The specific risk: the smell, which in a gym combines with the space's own smell and is noticed immediately by members. As in restaurants, it is a commercial problem before it is a technical one.
